For many years, VLOOKUP was the most used Excel resource to cross information between data sources. The capabilities of this function have made it possible to streamline processes that require comparing two data sets and cross information between them even when they are in separate files. Despite the power of this function, it also has serious limitations. Luckily, Excel has evolved tremendously in the past years, and we now have other tools to solve challenges where VLOOKUP would fall short. Power Query is one of those tools. We will compare the two in several scenarios to see which one would be a better option.
